Good evening ELC families! Another short week! Some of our classes have been "Ice Skating" this week! It is one of the most memorable experiences that the ELC students have. High schoolers have recalled those days fondly. Who normally "ice" skates on shaving cream? The students and staff both love these days! This week we had Mad Science come to our school and peform some science experiements for us with Jolting Jonathan. Students laughed and some were even the lucky volunteers! Lots of new vocabulary opportunities occured! Here is this week's short ELC Panda Press! https://www.smore.com/s1azh

Thank you to our PTO for supporting our Super Friends program! Mad Science was our PBIS reward! Students filled our bucket by being kind and safe inside and outside of school! Yesterday they had the opportunity to learn and take part in science experiments. Make sure you ask about the "pet" Ketchup experiment.

The ELC is currently experiencing technical issues with the voicemail system. Parents can either use the Rooms feature on the APS app to send a message to either Janice Johnston or I regarding absences or email. Thank you for your patience!

Believe it or not it is time to start thinking about next year here at the ELC! On Tuesday, January 9th we are opening our doors to all potential families to come and see what our classrooms and program is all about! We will have approximately 70 peer slots for the 2024-2025 school year. In order to be eligible as a peer, parents will need to sign up for a screening in either February or March and complete an application. For our families who will be transitioning from Early Intervention into our school, our special education staff will be on hand to answer any questions. We can't wait to see new faces and younger siblings of past and present ELC students in January!

hank you to all who have donated to the food drive! It is awesome seeing our table so full! On the weather front, it was quite chilly this week! Please remember to label coats, hats, and gloves for your children. With 250 students it is difficult to figure who dropped what if it was not seen. I know that seems too chilly for recess but it is important for students to get outside to burn some energy as well as to learn how to use playgound equipment and the play skills for outdoor activities.  Next Saturday is the holiday shop that the PTO is putting on. They are looking for volunteers for this event. The link is inside this week's ELC Panda Press. The staff of room 203 is being spotlighted this week! I hope you are enjoying learning about each staff member! I know we are! https://www.smore.com/m35rf
