What's happening?

ELL - Ms. Gaspar and Ms. Diaz

Welcome to Room 6! This year our English Language Learners in grades K-4 will be working together to develop skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  During the month of October students in kindergarten will focus on continuing to learn their letters and sounds, colors, days of the week, and speaking in complete sentences.  First graders will be learning to identify, read, and write about feelings.  In grade 2 we will focus on families and in grade 3 and 4 we will focus on communities.  We will be reading poems, singing songs, watching videos, and of course reading lots of books!

Title 1 Reading - Ms. Gargano and Ms. Clark

Thanks to our book fair, we are happy to see so many books in the hands of our students. We love to see children excited about reading! Title I teachers have been busy assessing and determining which children will benefit from additional reading support.

Families of eligible students will be sent an invitation letting them know that their child qualifies for a Title I group. During this small group, students will learn and practice new sounds and words, read books, and talk about their reading.

We have two family nights planned this year, so keep an eye out for the upcoming announcements!
