Mentoring
Attleboro’s Mentor Program is designed by teachers for all incoming teachers, beginning or new to Attleboro. The program’s goal is to help ensure a fully qualified and a fully satisfied teacher in every classroom. To that end, all incoming teachers are assigned a mentor to help acclimate them to Attleboro’s policies and procedures. In addition, mentors provide help as needed or desired in instructional techniques, curriculum, planning, assessment, and other areas for the classroom or office. Mentors also help new teachers network with building and system colleagues to build a support team. The program supports new teachers in other ways as well: new teacher-mentor meetings, a monthly newsletter, training for mentors, and current research on mentoring and teaching. The Mentor Program maintains a website at www.apsmentorprogram.weebly.com

District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP)
The Attleboro Public Schools in compliance with the Massachusetts General Law has developed a District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP). The intent of this plan is to provide a guidance document for principals and teachers to ensure that all students in general education classes are provided with the tools and strategies to be successful. The DCAP is aimed at assisting teachers in providing differentiated learning experiences to ensure that students can improve learning through the use of various teaching modalities. The DCAP guidance document describes the accommodations, instructional supports and interventions that are provided for students who are experiencing difficulty mastering content.
