Please take a look into our Specials to see what our students have been learning:

Wellness - Michelle Fabisch

Welcome to Wellness for the 2023-2024 school year!! We have been busy learning and reviewing the “Zones of Regulation.” Kindergarten is working on a more simplified version, but is doing incredible! All students are doing a great job with decision making skills and enjoying our question of the day during attendance!

Early in the school year grades 1-4 talked about the Wellness Wheel and identified different activities that each student liked/ disliked in the different dimensions of wellness. The dimensions of Wellness are; Physical, Social, Intellectual, Spiritual/ Beliefs, Emotional, and Leisure/ Free Time. We have spent the last few weeks learning about bones and the skeletal system. K-2 students are learning about how our bones help us in our everyday life. Did you know that bones help us move, protect important organs, and they make blood cells. All K-2 students have pieced a skeleton puzzle together! 3rd and 4th grade students have been investigating how our hands look and move by drawing “x-rays'' while moving our hands and wrists. Did you know that each hand has 27 bones?

ART - Kara Kushner

As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, our students channel the beauty of the fall season into their artistic creations. They've been working on a variety of fall-themed projects and more,  including:

  • Kindergarten ghosts: Students created friendly ghosts eating delicious candy.. Students were able to practice drawing large, along with practicing using scissors and glue.

  • First-grade leaf painting: Using leaf templates, oil pastels, and hot and cold watercolor paints, students are crearing beautiful paintings that capture the essence of fall.

  • Second-grade fall owls: Students are beginning to design their owls using patterns, lines, shapes, and colors.

  • Third and Fourth Graders: After studying the Elements of Art and practicing some techniques for inspiration, students began their first theme-based artwork. The theme for this month is ‘plants and flowers.’ Students have a choice of either painting or drawing for their masterpieces.

Thank you for being an essential part of your child's artistic journey. We look forward to a colorful and creative season ahead!

Physical Education - Andrea Lamonica

Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year.   I hope everyone is adjusting well.  The Physical Education department is off to a great start.  I want to thank you all for helping your student remember their sneakers on PE day.  Sneakers are the best footwear to safely participate in all movement activities.  We started the year off with learning about personal and general space and how to travel safely around the gymnasium.  Then we moved on to hand-eye coordination with throwing and catching.  This past week we started working tossing and catching  frisbees with the alligator catch and target practice.  The students will be able to demonstrate all they learned during our game this week.
